Midway through my honors year at UTS Fashion, we’re at the stage where we have developed a pre-collection. This may or may not carry through to the final graduate collection, but will inform the direction of it. It seems there’s no better time to share some of the work I’ve developed and the progress thus far, without revealing too much of the final show.
I’m pleased to announce that a design I submitted for the Cooper St Creation fashion design competition as won. The piece has been reinterpreted by the Cooper St design team and sampled for production. Sharing some images of the design below. Additionally I have won $1000 worth of Cooper St clothing. iD International Emerging Designer Awards are part of iD Dunedin Fashion Week in March every year. This award is open to fashion graduates internationally and is held in Dunedin New Zealand. Various monetary and sponsor prizes are awarded for this internationally recognized award.
Researching emerging designer profiles I looked into the work of Christopher Esber. Through exhibiting his graduate collection as well as being named a finalist in the international Woolmark Prize Esber has received various media attention from fashion magazine giants.
