Larapinta Tree Tattoo Design
The client came to me with a concept for this tattoo design inspired by the Larapinta Trail in central Australia. The triangular shape, colour palette and subject matter were all elements requested by the client. These elements were brought together in iterations of the design to represent a transformative hiking experience of sentimental value. The shape of the tree echoes the map of the trail in the section completed by the client. The willy wagtail and Australian crow pictured, are both birds which interacted with my client during the experience. The bright sun and sunset is reminiscent of the Australian desert. The background echoes a scenic photograph provided by the client. The tree itself, an Australian gum with peeling bark, a common characteristic of the trail.
