Twitter Art Exhibit
Here is my latest illustration for the Twitter Art Exhibit 2021. Launched in 2010 in Norway by David Sandum, the annual exhibit is now curated around the world. 80% of the funds raised is donated towards the selected charity. Every year an average of 700 artists worldwide participate in donating a small postcard sized analog art to the event to raise funds for a selected charity.
The 2021 event opens May 15 in Cheltenham UK, curated by Cat Salter-Smith (also 2017 curator). The proceeds will be going to The Leukaemia and Intensive Chemotherapy Fund – LINC, a local charity that supports patients and families fighting blood cancer.
A little bit about the piece
Inspired by my own love of bouldering and the year that is 2020 standing between many people and their passions in life, this piece alludes to the intersection of the flimsy hold humanity has on the Covid situation as well as the yearning to return to normality (for some) or to rebuild a world which looks out for those we’ve long overlooked, unveiled by the flimsy nature of our society, and its reliance on consumption and essential workers.
