As part of my professional practice subject we are required to follow up lectures with blog entries. I thought I would take the opportunity to release a few sneak peaks of my graduate work in progress. Behind the scenes work will also be dispersed across various social media platforms over the coming months, so keep and eye out for previews of my work and others from UTS Fashion 4th years. Google-ling “Karmaela” will take you to my internet presence.
Below is a quick sneak peak of the silhouettes I’ve been developing within the collection, based on the representation of Posthuman in a contemporary context. Please follow my facebook page for exclusive updates and behind the scenes.

Also in other news my business card designs are coming along! below are examples of various front and back designs. The front designs have various features. The first has a stronger fashion focus and futuristic feel which echos the mood of my collection, within the design I have incorporated my social media platform through using social media button graphics (designed by myself). Below this is a replica of the card incorporating an embedded QR code for my website. This is one I am currently contemplating as the strongest design. In the centre column is a contrasting design, the whiteground is designed to juxtapose the black backside representing the contrast within my work. The imagery for this better represents my art profile and the services I offer in this arena. This is also embedded with QR code and the website URL has been omitted, or moved to the back. Below this is the original basic design which echos the aesthetic of my website, minimal and embedded. On the right had side are the two alternate back side designs. one including the website URL one without, designed to match the website aesthetic and balance the front designs.

Out of these designs I feel that the ones with visuals are more suited to my very visual aesthetic. The white ground design and the QR embedded are the best suited I feel. For my Professional Practice subject, I will most likely use the dark one with some adjustments, such as the omitting of website URL from the front and in turn placing this in the backside feature.
Keep an eye out for photos once I get these printed.
